We are still animals
Like a whispered reminder of the reality you’ve always tried to ignore.
For many thousands of years, humankind has attempted to definitively separate ourselves from the myriad other animals with whom we share this planet. In spite of the daily evidence that we piss, shit, fuck, and fight just the same as any other animal, we ascribe to ourselves a unique elevation above others. Our self-awareness may be unique, but much of our behavior is more similar than not. What of ourselves might we more clearly be able to see if we were honest about our basic animal nature?
